The unique astronomical character of this camp will in no way eclipse the luminosity of our talented staff!
Here's the lineup:
Shmulik has been a giant of the Israeli folkdance scene for over 40 years, ever since Shir HaHaflaga, his first big hit. He has created hundreds of dances, founded dance troupes, directed dance camps, and created many music and dance programs. Shmulik has always been one of the best (and most entertaining) teachers around, and we look forward to enjoying his expertise and deep knowledge. His awesome dances are too many to list, but here are a few: Boker, Mishamayim, Mitachat La'Adama, Choshev Elayich, Bakapayim.
The word for Kobi is "energetic" (just look at that jump!). You’ll love his excellent teaching, beautiful dancing, and very playful personality—in fact, Hora Eclipse staff members are looking forward to meeting him on the paintball field. We are so excited to have Kobi join us for Hora Eclipse! His choreography started out with a bang, mega-hits Amazonas and Yare'ach Limon, and he continues to pump out great dances: Eizeh Yom Yafeh, Koparoche, Tikvateinu, Balagan.
Mitch is one of the warmest, friendliest people you'll ever meet, simply a wonderful person to be around. Not just a dancer and choreographer, he's an educator in many areas, primarily English language acquisition. Maybe this informs his dance teaching and maybe it's the other way 'round, but in any case he's a thoughtful, patient, and kind teacher. His dances are known and enjoyed everywhere: Ansi Dize La Novia, Baba Kosmi, Fiszer, Öp, Vilna Gaon.
Karen Kaplan / Larry Denenberg
If there's one person who knows how to make a dance camp fun, it's Karen. As co-director of the immensely popular Hilulim camps, Karen has decades of experience in shaping an event for everyone to enjoy. Ask about her trip to Bucharest where she saw her first total solar eclipse and got fired up with enthusiasm for this one! Larry is the camp's founder, technician, and eclipse resource. He's been dancing and teaching for a zillion years and will lead specialty and late-night sessions—and talk about eclipses!
